AMATEUR SWIMMING, Sunday August 8th, 2010

Looking for a challenge? You are courageous and bold, have endurance and guts? You love to swim and are ready to challenge the great Memphrémagog Lake? Join in the amateur swimming challenge of La Traversée Internationale du Lac Memphrémagog. Test your skills at the 500 m, 1 km, 2 km, 5 km or even the 10 km race. Each year over 200 swimmers, male and female, take the challenge.

Your dream is to participate in the open water 34 km great marathon? The amateur swimming event has trained many Quebec swimmers who are now part of the international professional circuit of FINA. It is also a great way to test your skills for the Olympic Games. As of summer 2008 a 10 km open water competition is an official Olympic competition. Stick around and meet our future open water swimming champions do their thing!

The 500 m closed-circuit event in the bay near Pointe Merry in Magog.

The events : 500m, 1km, 2km, 5km and 10km

Categories :

  • Juniors, 12 to 18 (500 m or 1 km or 2 km)
  • Masters, 19 to 34 (500 m or 1 km or 2 km)
  • Seniors, 35 and over (500 m or 1 km or 2 km)
  • Senior, 14 and over (5 km or 10 km)
    (Prohibited to swimmers of 12 and 13 years old)

The 5 km and 10 km events will be a step toward the Coupe du Québec (Quebec Cup).
